Just in the short time I have had this website up there have been several visits despite my not sharing it anywhere. I am guessing this is the result of me suddenly disapearing off of Facebook. If you followed my personal account, Marissa Brand, on Facebook, Hi, it’s me, Marissa Brand. This is my website and I’m glad you found me.
Facebook has completely shut down my account for the time being. You can’t even find my account right now. Someone reported my account as not being my real name, so until Facebook can verify that my name is infact my name, I cannot access my account and no one can view anything from my account.
It has been two weeks since Facebook has shut me down. From what I have read it could be shut down as long as 45 days. As much as this sucks I am taking it as my nudge to start a website. My hope is that with having my own website the chances of censorship are decreased and what I post about can actually be organized and easy to find unlike Facebook.
Thank you for being here and I hope we are able to reconnect on Facebook soon. I also hope we can continue to connect here and that this format helps you way beyond what Facebook has.
If you haven’t joined my email list now is the time to do so before censorship strikes again.
My account was inaccessible to me, a year ago, for 4 months.
My issue was 2FA, plus the telco not enabling texts to get through properly.
As I do not use a mobile, I needed a family member to assist me & they did not want to do so.
I did have my account cut off for I.D. verification several years ago. That was back in the days when Facebook actually asked users if they knew if their contact ‘x’ was a real person or not. It happened to me on a night my husband got admitted to emergency. Luckily, his account was logged in on the home computer so that I could let his family know what had happened.
They provide a free service so we are beholden to their annoying rules.
